Eligibility:

You must be a dependent/employee of a current Georgia Airports Association (GAA) member or a current Georgia Airports Association (GAA) Student member to be eligible. The scholarship is available for those currently enrolled or accepted at an accredited school in Georgia for any major or an aviation-related major at an accredited out-of-state institution.

Award Amount for 2023: Two (2) $2,000 scholarships (each recipient will only be eligible for one scholarship)

Procedures and Rules:

Please complete the online application in its entirety, including uploading your essay.

Selection of the recipient will be made by the GAA Board of Directors based on several factors including evaluation of the essay’s format (10%), spelling and grammatical correctness (30%), and the overall content of the essay submitted (60%).

The GAA Board of Directors will make the selection and announce the recipient at its Annual Conference and Expo. The decision of the GAA Board of Directors is final. The recipient will be notified by a member of the GAA Board or Management.

The award will be payable jointly to the recipient and the school, and must be used to pay for tuition, books, or other approved school-related expenses. Payment will be made in person to the recipient by one of the GAA Board Members within 8 weeks of the announcement.

GAA reserves the right to change or discontinue this program without notice.

All schools must be accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Essay Topic: How can the future of urban air mobility (UAM) impact the state of Georgia?

Required Format: Maximum of two pages, double spaced, Times New Roman 12 pt font with 1-inch margins.
