General Aviation Vulnerability Assessment Letter from Brian Delauter, General Manager for General Aviation To: Select Georgia General Aviation Airports The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is required by Congress to develop and implement a survey of general aviation airports. Your airport is one of 3,000 general aviation airports across the country TSA is asking to participate in its Airport Vulnerability Assessment survey. Attached is a copy of the letter we received from TSA requesting the state’s assistance in notifying our airports of the availability of this survey and a FAQ sheet regarding the survey. To complete the survey follow the instructions at the link below. The information you provide remains confidential as only the aggregate survey results compiled by a third party will be seen by TSA. Your voluntary participation in completing this survey for TSA is greatly appreciated. Survey link: www.tsa.gov/gasurvey. The survey should be completed by March 12, 2010. Carol Comer General Aviation Vulnerability Assessment / Help Desk Information As you may be aware, the State Aviation Director, Ms. Carol Comer, has been tasked by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to electronically distribute the General Aviation Vulnerability Assessment to your airport. The assessment was generated as a response to Congressional interest in passing legislative measures associated with the general aviation sector based on the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Report (See attached GAO excerpt). It is essential that GA airport operators understand the subjective nature of this survey and the broad implication of submitting a survey that may provide a misrepresentation of general aviation airport security. |
