About Southwest Georgia Regional Airport (KABY)

The Southwest Georgia Regional Airport (KABY) is owned by the City of Albany, Georgia and is operated by the seven-member Albany-Dougherty County Aviation Commission. Albany, Georgia is a community of approximately 164,000 in the Albany MSA and is located in southwest Georgia. ABY is served by Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) - Delta Connection with 50-seat CRJs and United Parcel Service (UPS) is ABY's largest tenant, with a sort facility located on the airfield. UPS serves ABY with A300-600 and B757-200 equipment.

The Deputy Director assists the Airport Director with all administrative, supervisory, and technical functions associated with operating a FAA Part 139 airport. These duties include but are not limited to: supervision/direction/evaluation of ARFF/police/maintenance staff; preparation and administration of departmental budgets; tracking and updating all capital and AIP projects utilizing City project management software; planning and direction of administrative functions and fiscal activities for the Airport Director; administration of the Airport's DBE program and acts as DBE liaison; extensive interaction with other City departments, airport tenants, regulatory staff, consultants, engineers, elected officials and the public; acting as Airport Director in her absence; and all other duties as assigned.
